Prevent window slamming

Question:

How can you prevent an open window from slamming due to draughts?

Answer:

In many DIY stores there are so-called "window stoppers". These look like a kind of horseshoe made of rubber with lamellas inside:

You simply press it around the window frame. When the window is then closed by the wind, it springs back softly and silently. What I like about it is on the one hand the silence, on the other hand the simplicity with which you can remove it when you want to close the window again. And maybe also that it is compatible with almost any kind of window.
